Time for a change?

I used to love teaching. I used to enjoy setting up my classroom for the coming year and spent hours on displays, making games and setting up roleplay areas. OFSTED inspected my school and I was described as 'outstanding.' I don't tell you this to boast (although I WAS proud of it!) - just to set the scene. Most of all, I loved the kids in my class - even the challenging ones.
I gradually 'rose up the ranks' and made it to senior management - but with two young children myself I found family life was suffering. At about this time, I answered a small advertisement in the back of the Times Educational Supplement - and my new writing career was born!
Today, I run my own business writing and crafting full time. I have over 230 books in print. My commute takes minutes (grabbing a fresh coffee as I wander through the kitchen) and I make four times the salary I made as a teacher. I still get to teach and lecture - and I love my life!
I offer online courses in writing for the educational market for teachers who do not live close to Newcastle/County Durham. For those of you who live nearby, or who are willing to travel, I offer an intensive one day or evening courses. I also offer courses in writing for children.
